Filtering discs
Technofilter offers a wide range of flat filters incorporating various polymer membranes for industrial and laboratory filtration as well as for microbiological, sanitary-epidemiological and physico-chemical analyses.
ММК microporous Сapron membranes
Description
ММК microporous Capron membranes are white porous films with a broad pore size range, produced by Technofilter's proprietary technology on the basis of Capron by wet casting.
Due to high porosity and controlled pore size, ММК membranes have high microparticle retention capacity and high filtration rate. ММК membranes meet the requirements to medical products and materials that are intended for long-term contact with blood and lymph (certificates No РОСС Ru.ИМ08.НО7715 and No РОСС Ru.ИМ13.НО2313).
Material
ММК membrane is a ‘hydrophilic' polyamide membrane made of Capron (Nylon-6). ММК membranes have a coarse cellular structure with thin microporous partition walls, which predetermines continuity of the structure and makes it strong and flexible in dry and wet conditions.
Main applications
- Fine and sterilizing filtration of aqueous solutions and blood preparations
- Clarifying and sterilizing filtration of parenteral preparations and small-volume pharmaceutical fluids
- Prefiltration and sterilizing filtration of aggressive media (diluted acids, alkalies, solvents, photoresists).
Technical characteristics and advantages
- Intrinsic hydrophilicity (instantly wetted by water)
- Quite high filtration rate
- Broad pore size range
- Extremely low content of extractables (~3 mkg/cm2)
- Withstands more than 10 cycles of sterilization with saturated steam by autoclaving at t=121°C and γ-irradiation with no change in structural/filtration characteristics
- Stable to alkaline solutions, chemicals and solvents.
Standard diameter of discs, mm: 13, 25, 35, 47, 90, 142, 293. Optionally, customers can specify any disc diameter no more than 293 mm.

MMPA+ (ММПА+) microporous polyamide membrane with positive potential
For sanitary-virological control of water and sterilizing filtration of liquids
Description
A method has been developed for producing positively charged polyamide-based microfiltration membranes (specification No 9471-023-10471723-2006). The membranes exhibit increased sorption capacity with respect to viruses, coliphages and pyrogens and retain the functional characteristics of uncharged ММК membranes. ММПА+ polyamide microporous membranes with positive zeta potential are porous white films produced using Technofilter's proprietary technology on the basis of polyamide (Nylon-6).
ММPА+ membranes have a coarse cellular structure with thin microporous partition walls, which predetermines continuity of the structure and makes it strong and flexible in dry and wet conditions. Due to high porosity and controlled pore size the membranes display high retention efficiency with respect to microparticles at high filtration rates.
ММPА+ membranes withstand mechanical, chemical and thermal loads and are biologically inert. The membranes are readily wetted with water and various aqueous solutions. The membranes are stable in aqueous media with pH values of 3 to 14 as well as in most organic solvents. ММPА+ membranes incorporated into МFМ-0142 filter units have been tested and recommended by A.N.Sysin State Research Institute of Human Ecology and Environment Hygiene (Russian Academy of Medical Sciences) for sanitary-virological investigations of water in laboratories of research institutes and sanitary-and-epidemiological stations.
Material
ММPА+ membrane is a ‘hydrophilic' polyamide (Nylon-6) membrane with positive potential.
Pore size, μm: 0.1; 0.2; 0.45.
ММPА+ membranes meet the requirements to medical products and materials intended for long-term contact with blood and lymph (certificates No РОСС Ru.ИМ08.НО7715 and No РОСС Ru.ИМ13.НО2313).
Main applications
- Sanitary-virological control of tap water, water in open natural reservoirs, swimming pools, groundwater springs, effluents, etc.
- Concentrating viruses and phages from waters of various origins
- Reducing the concentration of mycoplasmas and bacterial endotoxins (pyrogens) in pharmaceutical water systems
- Sterilizing filtration and removal of pyrogens from small-volume parenteral preparations and pharmaceutical liquids
Characteristics and advantages
- 100% sorption and controlled elution of viruses
- Inherent hydrophilicity (instantly wetted by water)
- High strength, flexibility, thermal and chemical stability
- Quite high filtration rate
- Non-toxic, containing an extremely small amount of extractables
- The membranes withstand more than 10 cycles of thermal sterilization by autoclaving at 121°C and γ-irradiation with no change in mechanical and structural-filtration characteristics

Diameter of standard discs, mm: 13, 25, 35, 47, 50, 142, 170, 293. Optionally, customers can specify any disc diameter no more than 293 mm.
